Prodromos Pyrros is the Secretary General for Social Solidarity and Fight Against Poverty at the Ministry of Social Cohesion and Family Affairs. Amongst others, he is responsible for social policies associated with various vulnerable groups, including persons with disabilities, the elderly and Roma population.
In the past, he worked as an economic & public policy adviser at the Office of the Prime Minister of Greece. In that capacity, he was involved in various government projects, most notably in drafting Greece’s Recovery and Resilience plan, increasing female participation in the labor market, as well as preparing and monitoring the National LGBTIQ+ Strategy.
Previously he worked at the press office and communications team of Nea Demokratia. He has also worked as a public policy researcher at the Centre for Liberal Studies and other think tanks.
He holds a degree in physics from Aristotle University of Thessaloniki and a master's degree in global political economy from City, University of London.
He speaks English, French and Italian.
