Georgios Drakopoulos specializes in planning and development for tourist destinations and businesses, in lobbying for Tourism and in Public Private Partnerships for tourist promotion. He worked in hotels (various positions) in Greece (1981-1993) and in the Greek Tourism Confederation-SETE, (1994-2014).
He served as Counselor in the European Economic and Social Committee (2010-2015), Chairman of the Affiliate Members of the UN Tourism (2012-2013), Special Adviser to the Secretary General of the UN Tourism (2014-2017). He also served as a Member of the Board of Directors of the Greek National Tourism Organisation (2021-2022).
He has delivered 460 speeches, (in 35 countries), produced 55 studies and 750 articles about tourism. He holds a MSc in Tourism Studies, University of Surrey-UK, studied Tourism Management, TEI (now University of West Attica), Athens-GR and in Hotel Management in International Centre of Glion, CH.
