Ioannis Tirkides is the Economic Research Manager at Bank of Cyprus and President of the Cyprus Economics Society. With a long career in banking, he has held roles in economic analysis, strategic planning, and investment strategy. He also taught at private universities and contributed to the Economist Intelligence Unit. He has published numerous works and frequently writes for the Cyprus Economic Society's blog and local newspapers. He studied economics at the University of Toronto and the University of Alberta in Canada, from where he earned his bachelor’s and master’s degrees.
