Christodoulos Topsidis was elected Regional Governor of Eastern Macedonia and Thrace in the elections of 15 October 2023, leading the "Regional Composition" party, and took office on 1 January 2024. His involvement in politics and especially in local government had started in 2018, when he founded the "Regional Composition" faction, with which he served as the main opposition party in the Regional Council of Macedonia in the period 2019-2023. From 2011 until today, he is the President of the Chamber of Evros, serving the institution of the Chamber with dedication. As part of his presidency of the Chamber of Evros, he has chaired all the organising committees of the Alexpo Fairs, as well as conferences and other major events, always with the theme of strengthening and promoting entrepreneurship, extroversion, support and promotion of local products. He was the Chairman of the Regional Council of Chambers of Eastern Macedonia and Thrace, under which the six Chambers of Eastern Macedonia and Thrace organised joint actions and demands. His business activities were mainly in the catering, retail and services sectors. He holds a degree in Economics and Management and an MBA in Business Administration. He is from Nea Vyssa in the Municipality of Orestiada and is a permanent resident of Alexa.
