Huri Yontucu

Assist.. Prof. Dr. of Creative Arts and Design

Assist. Prof. Dr Huri Yontucu is a full-time lecturer in the Faculty of Communication of Creative Arts and Design, specializing mainly in peace journalism, digital media literacy, disinformation, conflict resolution, social psychology, new media, and media ethics.
 
Apart from her academic studies, she is a peace activist at the Unite Cyprus Now initiative, providing trainings on various topics.
 
In 2022, she received the “Academic Work that Contributed to Journalism” award from the Turkish Cypriot Journalists Association. She has a record of professional consultancy on peacebuilding work for media development programs for Turkish Cypriot and Greek Cypriot communities in Cyprus. In 2023 summer, she conducted post-doctoral research at the University of Limerick in Ireland. She is also an experienced grant and proposal writer, having most recently secured funding from the U.S. State Department for a media literacy project.
