Markos Vasilikos serves as an Executive Director and member of the Board of Directors at HCDI S.A. He is a retired Officer of the Hellenic Navy, having graduated at the top of his class from the Hellenic Naval Academy in 1981. After a 28-year career, he retired with the rank of Captain. During his tenure in the Navy, he combined his expertise as an Engineer with leadership roles in major projects involving the procurement, construction, modernization, and repair of warships. Notably, he served as Project Manager for the modernization of the submarine GLAFKOS at the Salamis Naval Base, achieving unprecedented results in terms of cost efficiency and timely completion - setting a benchmark for the era. Following his Naval career, he transitioned to the private sector, where he held the position of General Manager in two shipping companies starting in 2006. Since 2016, he has been a consultant to shipping, industrial, and commercial enterprises, offering strategic, organizational, business intelligence, and technical advisory services. He holds two graduate degrees from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT): an Ocean Engineer’s Degree and an SM in Ocean Systems Management.
