Μs. Anthopoulou was born in Athens in 1978. Her family origins are from Athens and the occupied city of Famagusta, and she currently resides in Limassol. She studied Media and Management at the University of Leeds and began her career at the Cyprus Broadcasting Corporation, presenting two daily economic programmes. She later served as Communications Advisor at the Cyprus Stock Exchange, while in 2002 she joined the Electoral Campaign Team of Tassos Papadopoulos. Following his election as President of the Republic in 2003, she was appointed Special Associate to the President, serving as Head of the Office of the First Lady, Fotini Papadopoulou. In 2008, she joined Antenna as Marketing and Brand Manager, and in 2014 she assumed responsibility for Public Relations at the newly established Leventis Gallery. She has a severe mobility disability following a work accident in 2015. Believing strongly in the value of voluntary contribution and social policy, she has been actively engaged in public affairs for over 20 years. She currently serves as Secretary General of the Cyprus Paraplegic Organization (OPAK) and, following her accident, has developed an intense and multidimensional activist presence, with a life mission to remove disability from the margins of society by building an inclusive, non-discriminatory, equal, and universally accessible society. Since September 2024, she has been the Chairperson of the Cyprus Confederation of Organizations of the Disabled (KYSOA). She is married and a mother of two children, aged 17 and 3.
