Julian Lipscombe is a Director at Bennetts Associates, one of the UK’s leading architectural practices and winner of the prestigious AJ100 ‘Practice of the Year’ award in 2024. With over 30 years at the heart of the practice, Julian has played a key role in its growth and creative direction. His work is driven by a passion for placemaking, humane architecture, sustainability, and making design accessible to the general public. He currently leads the practice’s international work in Greece and India. Julian has been actively involved in projects in Greece for the past seven years. Highlights include the Syggrou Office Complex in collaboration with Dimand, and a strategic masterplan to reimagine the campus of Anatolia College in Thessaloniki. His time working in Greece has brought him a deep appreciation of the country’s two major cities, culture and people. Bringing a global perspective rooted in local experience, Julian will contribute to the Prodexpo panel discussion on ‘Reforming the Greek City: A Global Perspective on Positive Urban Practices’. He will draw on both his Greek knowledge and broader international experience, including a decade-long commission to regenerate the eastern side of Manchester’s city centre in the UK - an ambitious urban masterplan spanning 15% of the city’s central land footprint.
