Mr Andres Sutt is a Member of Parliament in Estonia and a former Minister of Entrepreneurship and IT. He is a member of liberal Reform Party faction and a former Chairman of the Foreign Affairs Committee at the Parliament. As a minister, he oversaw the development of the e-Estonia ecosystem, raised investments in cyber security, and launched the 5G rollout in Estonia. He was also actively promoting the Estonian startup ecosystem and collaboration in innovation between businesses and universities. Prior to entering politics, he was a Member of the Board at Enefit, the largest energy utility in Estonia. Mr Sutt has also worked for the European Stability Mechanism (ESM) in Luxembourg as Head of Banking. Before joining the ESM, he was Senior Advisor to the Executive Director and a member of the Executive Board of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) in Washington, D.C. Mr Sutt had a long career in the Bank of Estonia, the central bank of Estonia, where he held various positions and was Deputy Governor responsible for financial stability. He has extensive experience in bank restructuring and crisis management. He has a master's degree in economics and finance (cum laude) from Tartu University, Estonia and has studied management at INSEAD, France. He additionally studied at Harvard Law School.
