Bronwen Maddox took up the post of Director and Chief Executive of Chatham House in August 2022. Before joining Chatham House, Bronwen was Director of the Institute for Government (2016-2022), an independent think tank based in London promoting better government. Bronwen has spent many years in international relations including as Foreign Editor and US Editor of The Times and many roles at the FT including leading its investigation on Robert Maxwell. Prior to becoming a journalist, Bronwen began her career as an equities analyst in the City, leading one of the top-rated teams on media stocks. Bronwen is a Visiting Professor at the Policy Institute at King’s College London, an Honorary Governor of Ditchley, an honorary fellow of the British Academy, and a council member of Research England, one of the research councils of UK Research & Innovation.
