Pierantonios Papazoglou joined the European University Cyprus at the Centre-of-Excellence in Risk & Decision Sciences (CERIDES), in December 2021, as a Research Associate in Civil Protection & Safety of First Responders. He is also the Research & Strategy Manager of CERIDES. He holds a BSc (Hons.) in Environmental Sciences, a MEng. in Environmental Engineering, and a Diploma (Distinction) in Occupational Safety & Health. He is a Certified Trainer by the HR-Development Authority of Cyprus, a Member of the International Association of Emergency Managers, a Member of the Institute of Civil Protection & Emergency Management, a Member of the Cyprus Scientific & Technical Chamber, and a Representative of Cyprus Standardisation Organisation in the CEN Working Group on Crisis Management and Civil Protection. Former offices held include Heading the Research-&-Innovation Support-Operations of a Horizon2020-TEAMING-Centre-of-Excellence, as well as representing Cyprus as the National Contact Point and Programme Committee Member in Horizon2020 Programmes and Initiatives, such as Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actions, Climate & Environment, Space, and EURAXESS. Pierantonios is an Active Volunteer Safety Officer at the Cypriot Civil Defence’s Search-&-Rescue Teams, and an Active Reservist Officer of the Hellenic Army.
