Ilias Apostolopoulos was born in 1976 in Holargos and graduated from the 2nd Lyceum of Papagou. He has a degree in Business Organization and Administration from the University of Piraeus, a Master's degree in "Business Administration for Executives" with distinction from the same university, and a postgraduate degree in "Strategic Management of Environment, Disasters, and Crises" with distinction from the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens. Since 1997, he has been active in the business sector as the owner of KOSMOTRAK, one of the most reputable companies in the field of construction machinery. Municipality of Papagou - Ηolargos In the 2006 elections, he was elected for the first time as a Municipal Councilor of Ηolargos. In the 2010 elections, he was re-elected as a municipal councilor of the newly expanded municipality of Papagou-Ηolargos. In 2011, he was elected President of the Papagou-Ηolargos Municipal Council and later became President of the Municipal Organization for Social Welfare and Preschool Education. In the 2014 elections, he was elected Mayor of Papagou-Ηolargos, with 62% of the vote, the highest percentage in the municipality's history. In the 2019 elections, he was re-elected as Mayor of Papagou-Ηolargos with 54.5% of the vote. In the2023 elections, he was re-elected as Mayor of Papagou-Ηolargos with 55,68 % of the vote. He is a member of the Board of Directors and the Executive Committee of the Central Union of Municipalities of Greece and the Regional Union of Municipalities of Attica. In February 2020, he was elected President of the Board of the Institute of Local Government.
