Professor Dikaia Chatziefstathiou is Professor of Applied Olympic Studies and Founder/Director of the Olympic Studies Research Centre for Safe Sport & Human Rights at Canterbury Christ Church University, UK, where she also serves as Associate Dean of Research, Enterprise and Knowledge Mobilisation (School SPACES). An internationally recognised expert in Olympic Studies, she has widely published on Olympism and Olympic values. She is Chair of the Research Committee of Safe Sport International and Vice-Chair of the Education, Youth and Culture Commission of the Global Esports Federation. Dikaia held a Marie Curie Intra-European Fellowship at Panteion University, Greece (2013–15), examining sporting mega-event legacies. She received the inaugural Coubertin Prize (IOC/IPCC, 2008) for her research on Pierre de Coubertin and served on the Executive Board of the International Pierre de Coubertin Committee until 2018. She is Editor-in-Chief of the Routledge Handbook of the Olympic and Paralympic Games (2020) and author/editor of multiple influential works.
