Georgios Didaskalou was born in Nafplion, Greece in 1972. He earned his diploma degree in Civil Engineering from the National Technical University of Athens (NTUA) and obtained a PhD from the Department of Geology and Geoenvironment at the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens (NKUA). He also holds two master’s degrees: one from the School of Civil Engineering at the National Technical University of Athens;the other from the School of Economics and Management at the University of the Peloponnese. In his early career, he worked as a Civil Engineer in a range of positions of responsibility. From 2013 to 2014, he worked as an advisor to the Secretary General of the Decentralised Administration of the regions of the Peloponnese, Western Greece, and the Ionian Islands. During 2014 and 2015, he served as the Secretary General of the Decentralised Administration of the regions of the Peloponnese, Western Greece, and the Ionian Islands, responsible for monitoring and implementing the plans of the Greek Government. From 2015 until 2019, he worked as the Secretary General of the Municipality of Amaroussion, Attica. Since July 2019, he has held the position of the Secretary General of Culture at the Ministry of Culture.
