Nikos Georgakos is the Mayor of Preveza and serves as the President of the Regional Association of Solid Waste Management Agencies for Epirus (ΦΟΔΣΑ Ηπείρου), the General Secretary of the Development Agency of Preveza (ΔΕΠΑΝ), a member of the Board of Directors of Municipalities with Thermal Springs, and a representative of the Central Union of Municipalities in the Interreg Greece-Italy committee. He is a Civil Engineer with studies at the Institute of Technology of Xanthi. Since the end of his military service in the Greek Army, he has worked for over two decades in the construction sector. He is 55 years old, married to Rihanna Kontaratou, and has two children: Lefteris and Antonina. Nikos has been a member and has served as Secretary General of the Technical Chamber of Preveza. In the past, he has been the General Manager of the Preveza Hospital, where he made a remarkable personal contribution. He has also participated in educational programs on management organized by the World Health Organization and served as the President of the historic Orpheus Philharmonic. Currently, after being elected for the second consecutive term as Mayor of Preveza for 2023-2028, he continues to serve on the Board of Directors of the Network of Cities. He is also the vice-president of the Social Policy Committee of the Central Union of Municipalities of Greece (ΚΕΔΕ).
