Dr Triantafyllos Karatrantos was born in Athens on November 1982. He is an International Relations, European Security and New Threats expert. He is a Research Fellow in Radicalization, Terrorism, Policing Models, Security and Foreign Policy at the Hellenic Institute for European and Foreign Policy (ELIAMEP). On September 2021, he was appointed by the European Commission to the Advisory Board of Researchers charged with researching and developing the policy for preventing radicalization and countering violent extremism for the RAN – Policy Support. Between July 2019 and August 2021, he served as a Security Policy Advisor to the Minister for Citizen Protection. He has been a Security Policy Advisor to the Minister of State since September 2021.He holds a Ph.D. in European Security and New Threats from the University of the Aegean.
