Dr. Dimitris MOURTZIS Professor Vice President of Research Council of the University of Patras Director: Laboratory for Manufacturing Systems and Automation (LMS) Dimitris Mourtzis is a Professor in the Department of Mechanical Engineering and Aeronautics, and Vice President of Research Council of the University of Patras. He is a Founding Member at the CLEAN AVIATION JU Governing Board and Director of the Laboratory for Manufacturing Systems and Automation (LMS). He is a Fellow of the International Academy for Production Research (CIRP), the International Federation of Automatic Control (IFAC), the International Federation of Information Processing (IFIP), and Member of the American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME) and the Institute of Electrical and Electronic Engineers (IEEE). His scientific interests focus on Design, Planning and Control of Manufacturing Systems and Networks, Automation, Advanced Simulation including Augmented, Mixed, and Virtual Reality, Manufacturing Processes Modelling and Optimization, Digital Manufacturing, Industry 4.0, Industry 5.0, Artificial Intelligence, Industrial Metaverse and Hybrid Teaching Factory. He is a reviewer of research projects at several international organizations. He is also an Editor, Editorial Board Member and Reviewer in many highly recognized international scientific journals. He has authored monographs, three books, book chapters, and approximately 400 articles in International highly recognized scientific journals.
