Massimiliano Paolucci, an Italian national, joined the World Bank in 2002 as Country Officer for the Dominican Republic, based in Santo Domingo. Since then, he has served in positions of increasing responsibilities, including Country Program Coordinator for Brazil, Special Representative for the World Bank in Southern Europe, the Holy See and the UN Rome-based institutions, based in Rome, Special Representative for the European Institutions, NATO, Belgium and Luxembourg, based in Brussels, and lastly as World Bank Country Manager for Kosovo and North Macedonia, based in Pristina. Massimiliano holds a Master’s of Arts in International Economics and Relations from Johns Hopkins University, a Degree (Laurea) In International Political Science from Università Degli Studi Di Genova, and a Certificate In International Business Studies from Sheffield Hallam University. In addition to Italian, Massimiliano is fluent in English, French, Spanish, Portuguese and has basic knowledge of Dutch and Albanian.
