Antonia Theodosiou holds a master’s in Architecture from RWTH Aachen, specializing in ecological buildings and heritage restoration, with further studies in Environmental Engineering (TU Braunschweig) in Germany and in Conservation and Restoration of Historical Structures and Monuments at Frederick University in Cyprus. For five years she was Director of the Akamas Sustainable Development Plan, she collaborated with UNESCO’s National Commission for the inscription of the “Art of Dry Stone Walling, Knowledge, and Techniques” as an Intangible Cultural Heritage, and contributed as a UNESCO expert in relevant educational and European programmes. She has led projects related to “Natura 2000” network sustainability and participated in the creation of the agrotourism programme whilst working for two years at the CTO. Currently, she serves as Vice-President of both SPS and ICOMOS Cyprus, representing Cyprus on international associations and councils for environment and culture. A recipient of national and international distinctions, she has co-authored works on traditional architecture, landscape, nature and the Akamas Peninsula’s culture. Since January 2024, upon appointment by H.E. the President of the Republic of Cyprus, she serves as the Commissioner for the Environment and Animal Welfare.
