A graduate of the Law School of the National and Capodistrian University of Athens (Greece), she did her postgraduate studies (PhD) in Criminal Law and Criminology at the University of Giessen (Germany) on a Council of Europe scholarship while working as an expert in pilot reintegration programs for drug-addict and alcoholic criminals (mostly juveniles) using methadone. Since 1987 she is a Notary Public in Athens, Greece. She is Board Member of the Athens Notaries Association since 1997, has served as Secretary General from 2006 to 2009, as Vice-President (2015-2024). She was elected President of Athens Notaries Association on June 2024, the first female notary in Greece to serve at this post. She is also a member of the Union of Greek Female Law Practitioners. On a european and international level, she has participated in the EU’s Notaries Council (CNUE) from 2004 to 2009. She was elected Member in the International Union of Latin Notaries (UINL) in 1998 and is a Honorary Member since 2010. In 2006 she was appointed Member in the Founding Committee of the European Notarial Network (ENN/RNE), which was created by the CNUE and the European Commission. She was a member of the Organising Committee in the 23th International Conference of Latin Notaries, which took place in Athens (30 Sept. – 5 Oct. 2001) as well as national rapporteur. In 2005 in collaboration with CNUE and the European Commission she organized in Athens (Horn Institute) the Formanote Programme on Cross-border Issues of Family Law for Notaries. In 2003 she participated over several months in a collaboration program between the Center for European and Constitution Law and the European Commission to organize the public administration, the judicial system (mostly criminal) and the notarial system (as a preventive justice mechanism) in Kazakhstan. There she worked with German Professor of Civil Law and former Secretary General of the Lower Saxony’s Ministry of Justice Dr. Volker Hillebrand for the creation of the first Kazakh Notaries Code upon the principles of Latin Notariats and prepared the induction of the Kazakh Notariat to UINL. She teaches in the Training Seminars for New Notaries at the Athens Notaries Association. She has spoken in many conferences both in Greece and abroad, in workshops and seminars regarding notarial issues as well as in a training seminar for foreign notaries (in Albania and Bulgaria) in collaboration with Italian and German experts respectively. Furthermore, she has taught in seminars of notarial law in the Department of Civil Law of the University of Athens as well as the Centre for Judicial Studies. She has published articles and studies on tax and building law issues in notarial practice, and on the history of the notarial profession in both greek and foreign legal journals as well as newspapers. She speaks fluently Greek, German and English.
