Nicolas Jouan is a senior analyst in defence and security at RAND Europe. His research interests focus on defence acquisition policies, transatlantic cooperation, and the geopolitics of Europe. At RAND, Nicolas has worked on a number of projects including national and international acquisition process analysis, defence safety regulation analysis, the adoption of new technologies by the defence supply chain, and skills sustainment in the defence industry. Prior to joining RAND Europe, Nicolas worked as a market analyst for the defence and aerospace industry. Nicolas holds a M.Litt. in International Security Studies from the University of St Andrews, a MRes in Modern History from the University of Paris Sorbonne and a PGDip in International Law from the Institute of Higher International Studies at the University of Paris Panthéon-Assas.
