Angelos Hadjicharalambous was born in Larnaca on 4 June, 1971. His parents, Charalambos and Panagiota Hadjicharalambous, were both teachers. He is a graduate of the American Academy of Larnaca and served his military service as a Reserve Artillery Lieutenant. He holds the following academic qualifications: • MBA – Master in Business Administration (Kingston University London) with Merit • MSc – Master in Science – Information Engineering (City University London) with Distinction • BEng – Bachelor in Engineering – Electrical and Electronic Engineering (City University London) – Degree 1st Class Honors. In 1995, he was employed by the Larnaca Sewerage and Drainage Board (LSDB) as an Electrical Engineering Technician. He later held the positions of Electrical Engineer and Head of the Operations and Maintenance Department. In 2018, he was appointed as the General Manager of the LSDB. In 2024, he was elected as the first Chairman of the District Local Government Organization of Larnaka (EOAL). In 2022, he was appointed by the Temporary Coordinating Council of Larnaca (TCC) and the Central Advisory Committee (CAC), in the role of Project Manager, overseeing the implementation of Local Government Reform and the establishment of the new District Local Government Organization of Larnaka. Additionally, by a decision of the Minister of Interior, he was appointed to the Board monitoring the implementation of the European directive on urban wastewater, as a representative of Sewerage Councils across Cyprus. Mr Hadjicharalambous, in his capacity as Chairman, represents the District Local Government Organization of Larnaka (EOAL) at the Larnaca District Tourism Development and Promotion Company (LDTPC), the Larnaca Chamber of Commerce and Industry, and at Larnaka 2030 – European Capital of Culture Candidate City. He is married to Lisa Papazachariou, a senior executive at a major banking institution. Their son, Charalambos, is training as a doctor in the United Kingdom.
