Mr Ronald Ozzy Lamola, born on 21 November 1983, in Bushbuckridge, Mpumalanga Province, South Africa, is a prominent lawyer and politician affiliated with the African National Congress (ANC). He has served as a member of the National Assembly since 22 May 2019. His political career includes holding the position of Minister of Justice and Correctional Services from May 2019 to June 2024, after which he took on the role of Minister of International Relations and Cooperation. Lamola has a strong educational background. He obtained a law degree from the University of Venda, completed practical legal training at the University of South Africa, and earned two master’s degrees from the University of Pretoria, specialising in corporate law and extractive law. Lamola initiated his career at TMN Kgomo and Associates in 2006 and has since held various significant positions, including establishing his own law firm, showcasing a well-rounded professional journey. His unwavering dedication to public service and active involvement in the ANC Youth League from a young age underscore his commitment to contributing to his country’s progress and governance.
