A career diplomat, Amb. Elena Poptodorova has been part of Bulgaria's transition to democracy and European and Euro-Atlantic integration since 1990. She served as MP from 1990 through 2001 and held senior positions at MFA - Spokesperson, Human Rights and International Organizations Director, NATO and Global Security Director, Ambassador to the US (2002-2008 and 2010-2016). She is a cofounder and currently VP of the Atlantic Club of Bulgaria;member of the Board of the Brussels-based Atlantic Treaty Association. Graduate of the Sofia 'Kliment Ohridski' University, Doctor Honoris Causa of Assumption College, USA.
