Dr Emmanuel Karagiannis is a Reader (professor without chair) in International Security at King’s College London's Department of Defence Studies and an internationally recognised expert in terrorism and violent non-state actors. He has a diverse academic background, obtaining two PhDs from British universities, and has held research positions at prestigious institutions such as Cambridge University, Oxford University, LSE, the US Military Academy at West Point, Princeton University, and the University of Pennsylvania. His work has been cited extensively, and he has been interviewed and quoted by major media outlets, including the Economist, The Financial Times, the Wall Street Journal, Le Monde, CNN International, Newsweek, and Al Jazeera. Currently, he also serves as the Programme Director of the Masters of Research in Defence Studies in King's College London.
