Dr. Ioannis Pandis joined Pfizer in 2023, and currently is the Site Lead for Pfizer in Thessaloniki and the Leader of Center for Digital Innovation. He has an international proven track record in leading high impact projects which bridge pharmaceutical research processes and advanced IT solutions, enabling them to develop strategies that align AI and Data capabilities with research objectives.
Prior to this role, Ioannis served as a Sr. Director accountable for Research AI & Data Technology Strategy in the Center for Digital Innovation, driving the adoption and implementation of cutting-edge AI, machine learning, and data technologies to accelerate drug discovery and foster innovation in the pre-clinical research phase.
Before joining Pfizer, Ioannis worked in the UK for more than 10 years leading projects in biomedical data Science and digital health for major pharmaceutical companies and academic institutions. He has also established and contributed to major European biomedical research initiatives as a biomedical data scientist.
Ioannis has published a large number of research papers and articles in international peer-reviewed medical journals, focusing on digital health science and data science in monitoring different diseases.
He holds a PhD in Immunology and Molecular Biology from the University of Ioannina, an MSc in Bioinformatics from Imperial College London, and a BSc in Genetics from Cardiff University.
