George Kotrotsios holds a PhD in Ooptoelectronics from the Polytechnic University (INPG) of Grenoble, France, and an MBA (Innovation and Entrepreneurship) from EPFL in Lausanne, Switzerland. He was a Vice President of Business Development (2007-2022) and a Member of the Executive Board (2010-2022) at CSEM, a leading Swiss research and innovation center in microelectronics and intelligent digital systems. At CSEM he was the coordinator of the link to the industry, the reconstruction of the internal startup ecosystem and relation to peers.  He has acted as the chairman of the board of directors of Sensecore (medical wearables), and is currently a technology consultant to medical startups. George Kotrotsios is currently Vice President of the board of the Hellenic Chips Competence Center HCCC and had been recently appointed as a representative of Greece to the Program Committees of the European Innovation Council (EIC) and the European Research Council (ERC). For more than ten years he was in the Executive Board of the European Association of Research and Technology Organizations (EARTO) and of the Board of the Heterogeneous Technology Alliance,betwween Fraunhofer Microelectronics, CEA-LETI, VTT and CSEM;he chaired this Alliance for three years. He is elected member of the Swiss Academy of Engineering Sciences in 2016.
