George P. Chrousos, MD, MACP, MACE, FRCP

Dr. George P. Chrousos is Professor of Pediatrics and Endocrinology Emeritus, Holder, UNESCO Chair on Adolescent Health Care, Director of the University Research Institute on Maternal and Child Health and Precision Medicine at the University of Athens, and President of the Hellenic Pasteur Institute. Professor Chrousos pioneered studies that elucidated the effects of stress on the organism at the behavioral, neuroendocrine, cellular, and molecular levels. He has also performed seminal research on human development, especially of the years of puberty and adolescence. He has received numerous major awards, including the Bodossaki Prize of Greece, the Fred Conrad Koch Award, the highest honor of the US Endocrine Society, as well as the Transatlantic Alliance Award of both the US Endocrine Society and The European Society of Endocrinology. He is an elected member of the Academia Europaea, the US National Academy of Medicine and the Academy of Athens.
