Dr. Nikola Altiparmakov is an Assistant Professor at the Faculty of Economics, University of Belgrade. He has been an active participant in macro-fiscal reforms in the Republic of Serbia since 2003, first as a Debt Analyst at the Serbian Treasury, then as a macro-fiscal consultant on the USAID Tax Administration Reform Project, and later as an advisor for fiscal policy at the Ministry of Finance. In 2011, he was appointed as one of the three members of the newly established independent Fiscal Council of Serbia. In this position, over the past 15 years, he has led research on pension and tax reforms, public revenue projections, analyses of the distributive effects of public policies, as well as work on improving fiscal rules and the budgetary process in the Republic of Serbia. He has represented the Fiscal Council at numerous international conferences and working groups, including those organized by the European Union, the International Monetary Fund, the World Bank, the OECD, and others.
