George Isaia was born in 1994 in Nicosia. He holds a degree in Classical Studies and Philosophy from the Faculty of Letters at the University of Cyprus and a master’s degree in Social and Political Sciences from the School of Social Sciences and Education of the same institution. His academic and professional interests focus on strengthening institutions, promoting the rule of law, and advancing participatory democracy. George Isaia is the Executive Director of Oxygen for Democracy, where he leads initiatives to foster democratic governance and institutional resilience. He serves as an independent special advisor at Zenox Public Affairs, providing strategic insights on policy and governance, and as an advisor to the Commissioner for the Citizen on issues of participatory democracy and civic empowerment. Actively involved in policymaking and governance frameworks, he contributes to initiatives addressing institutional development, legal frameworks, and democratic engagement. He is a member of the Mirror Committee on Governance of Organisations for the International Organisation for Standardisation (ISO), where he collaborates on international standards in governance.
