Since 2011 Dr. Doumenis is assistant professor at the dept. of Informatics and
Telecommunications of University of Ioannina (former dept. of Computer Engineering of the
Technological Institute of Epirus); he teaches courses on “Digital signal processing”,
“Embedded systems”, “Entrepreneurship and innovation” and “Autonomous sensor
networks”. He is directing the “Autonomous Systems” laboratory (ASL), towards research in
embedded systems, Internet of Things, energy efficiency and scavenging, autonomous
navigation of smart objects. Dr. Doumenis is co-author of more than 30 research papers
published in widely accepted scientific magazines or international conferences and has
applied for two national and two international patents. He has been invited to review papers
for highly recognised journals such as IEEE’s Micro and Communications letters and Elsevier’s
Integration VLSI journal. He is a regular reviewer and evaluator of EU backed RTD proposals
and projects.
