Dr. Panagiotis Barkoutsos is a Senior Quantum Solutions Architect working in IonQ's newest innovation center in Basel, Switzerland. His responsibilities are focused in the identification and development of use cases for IonQ quantum computers that have the potential to generate impact in different industrial and scientific domains. In the past Dr Barkoutsos was a SVP of Quantum Applications and Software in PASQAL and a research staff member of IBM Quantum in the Zurich Research Lab. Dr Barkoutsos holds a PhD from ETH Zurich, Department of Theoretical Physics, in the field of quantum computing and applications of near term quantum computers for quantum chemistry. He has a MSc degree in Chemical Engineering from NTUA and a MSc degree in Process Engineering from ETH Zurich.
