Director of the Greek Editorial Team

Deutsche Welle

Director of DW's Greek editorial team since 2025. Political correspondent in Berlin since 2022. Emphasis on Greek-German relations.

I follow the governmental and parliamentary processes in Germany as well as the shaping of Greek-German relations from a European perspective and in their historical perspective.

I was born in Kavala, grew up in Thessaloniki, studied Law at the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, and studied with Erasmus in Brussels. Next stop was Paris for postgraduate studies in Public Law at the Université Paris 1-Panthéon-Sorbonne and then in Philosophy of Law at the Université Paris-Panthéon-Assas, where I completed a doctoral thesis in Constitutional Law, studying comparatively the institutions of parliamentary democracy and in particular the presidential institution.

My involvement in journalism began in 2012 at DW in Bonn: reporting, news, new media, missions. After further training at the DW Academy and a brief stint in the Political Department and the Documentary Department, I began covering political and Greek-German issues as a correspondent from the German capital in 2022.

Since January 2025, I have been the director of DW's Greek Program. A program with particular historical weight that moves forward optimistically and with a sense of journalistic responsibility into the future.

I am fascinated by documenting the everyday life of parliamentary institutions and the decision-making that affects politics and the economy in Germany and Europe. In addition to journalism and law, I am interested in modern political history, from World War II to the post-war world. Berlin and Germany in general offer rich material for historical and political reflections.
