Joshua Volz

Joshua Volz is the Special Envoy for Energy Integration at the U.S. Department of Energy.

Mr. Volz previously served as the Deputy Assistant Secretary for the Europe, Eurasia, Africa and the Middle East in the Office of International Affairs. Prior to joining the agency, Mr. Volz led the Eastern Mediterranean team at the U.S. Department of State’s Bureau of Energy Resources and held numerous positions within the U.S. Department of Defense. He has served in Iraq, Afghanistan, Egypt, Jordan, Israel, and Syria. Mr. Volz holds a B.A. in Philosophy and Political Science from Kalamazoo College, an M.S. in National Security Strategy and Resourcing from the National Defense University, and lectures at the Johns Hopkins School for Advanced International Studies.
