Ioannis (John) Gionas has 25 years of experience in the telecommunications, energy, and IT
markets. He is a founding partner of Meazon, a technology company that designs and produces
products and services for the retrieval and analysis of energy, building & environmental data
and their use to support business decisions, for the global market. Among other things, he
guides strategic and business planning, commercial policy, business control, contract
management and digital marketing. He is a member of the Board of Directors of HETIA –
Hellenic Emerging Technologies Industry Association. He has served as a Project Coordinator in
multimillion publicly funded technology R&D projects.
Before Meazon he worked in multinational companies such as Ericsson, ABB, and Greek IT
companies. He held positions of responsibility reaching the level of Regional Sales Director at
Ericsson, where he was a member of the Management Board of Ericsson Southeast Europe.
He holds a Diploma in Electrical Engineering (University of Patras) and an M.Sc. in Information
Engineering (City University of London) with significant experience and publications in the
development of dynamic system optimization algorithms. Furthermore, he holds an MBA
(Athens University of Economics & Business), while he is also a graduate of Berkeley University,
California with a specialization in emerging technology markets management.
