Melina Tassou is an Agronomist Engineer specializing in Food Science and a graduate of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki. She is also a Bordeaux-trained winemaker, holding the prestigious Diplôme National d’Œnologie (D.N.O.) from the University of Bordeaux. Following formative professional experience at renowned wineries in Bordeaux, Burgundy, and Australia, she returned in 2004 to her hometown of Komotini, where she founded Domaine Kikones—the first winery dedicated exclusively to producing high-quality wines in the Rhodope region of Northern Greece. Her wines reflect a rare synthesis of scientific precision, international expertise, and deep respect for terroir. Under her direction, Domaine Kikones has gained recognition for its refined, expressive wines, which are featured on the wine lists of some of Greece’s most distinguished restaurants. By 2026, Domaine Kikones had expanded its international presence, exporting to Dubai, the United States, Switzerland, Germany and Japan, establishing the estate as an emerging ambassador of modern Greek wine on the global stage.
