Christodoulos Topsidis | Regional Governor of Eastern Macedonia and Thrace Christodoulos Topsidis was elected Governor of the Region of Eastern Macedonia and Thrace in the regional elections of October 15, 2023, as the head of the political group “Regional Composition,” and assumed office on January 1, 2024, with a vision for a modern, sustainable, and productive Region. Since March 2024, he has also been serving as President of the Energy, Environment, and Climate Change Committee of the Union of Greek Regions, furthering his commitment to a sustainable and resilient future for local communities. His involvement in public affairs began in 2018 when he founded the “Regional Composition” group. With it, he sought an active role in shaping regional policy and served as the leader of the main opposition in the Regional Council of Eastern Macedonia and Thrace during the 2019–2023 term.
With consistency and dedication to local development, he has been serving as President of the Evros Chamber of Commerce since 2011, providing steady support to the business community of the region. During his tenure, he chaired the organizing committees of all Alexpo trade exhibitions, as well as numerous conferences and events aimed at promoting entrepreneurship, extroversion, and local products. From May 2018 until November 2023, he served as President of the Regional Chamber Council of Eastern Macedonia and Thrace, through which joint actions and strategic initiatives were implemented by the six Chambers of the Region.
Before assuming his local government responsibilities, he was actively involved in various business sectors, including hospitality, entertainment, construction, retail trade, services, and catering. He holds a degree in Public Administration and a Master’s Degree (MBA) in Business Administration. He hails from Nea Vyssa in the Municipality of Orestiada and resides permanently in Alexandroupoli. He is married to Niki Mouchtaridou and is the father of four children, two boys and two girls.
