George Alogoskoufis is Emeritus Professor of Economics at the Athens University of Economics and Business, where he served as Professor of Economics from 1990 to 2023. He has also been a Research Associate at the Hellenic Observatory of the London School of Economics since 2011 and a Fellow of the European Economic Association since 1999. Between September 2020 and September 2022, he served as Chairman of the Department of Economics at the Athens University of Economics and Business. Between September 2016 and September 2019, he was Professor of Greek and European Studies at the Constantine Karamanlis Chair at the Fletcher School, Tufts University, Boston. From September 1996 to October 2009, he was an elected Member of the Hellenic Parliament. From March 2004 to December 2008, he served as Minister of Economy and Finance of the Hellenic Republic and represented Greece in the Eurogroup and the ECOFIN Council of the European Union.
