Patricia Labra graduated as an Electrical Engineer from the Polytechnical School of Gijon (University of Oviedo), Spain, in 2004. She got a certificate of a specialized course on Economics in Energy Sector as part of an Energy Master from the University of Carlos III, Madrid, in 2007 and a combined Executive Management Development Program (PDD) by IESE and ESADE business schools (2018).
In 2005, She joined Red Eléctrica de España, the Spanish Transmission System Operator in the System Development Area and since 2022 she is the head of the Network Planning Department, involved in prospective studies and national transmission network development plan, including interconnection development. She has also been involved in the technical assistance to the European coordinator for the Eastern Interconnection between France and Spain and has also participated in various CIGRE working groups related to HVDC topics.
She has devoted an important part of her professional career to different ENTSO-E groups and tasks under the System Development Committee (SDC) since its creation in 2008, especially in the Ten-Year Network Development Plan (TYNDP) deliverable and all the tasks around it. She has participated in the TYNDP since its pilot release in 2010, and she has undertaken several relevant roles such as Convenor of the Continental Southwest Regional Group, Convenor of the Editors Team in the TYNDP2020 release and convenor of the TYNDP Steering Group for 2 editions of this product.
Since 2025 she is the ENTSO-E System development Committee Chairperson.
