Mr Evaggelos Roufos is a Mathematician, who has been graduated of the Mathematics Department of the University of Ioannina and master’s degree holder in the field of Bioethics of the Democritus University of Thrace. Since 2020, has taken over the duties of the Commander of the University General Hospital of Alexandroupolis, with great contribution in the Public Health sector in critical periods, such as Covid-19 pandemic and the evacuation of the Hospital during the fires in August 2023 in the Southern Evros region. It was an unprecedented operation in the European chronicles at least. During the period of 1990 – 2019 he has been a tutoring school owner in Alexandroupolis which was employing approximately 40 employees. For many years, he has been Secretary of the regional Tutoring School Owners Association of East Macedonia & Thrace region and representative to the Panhellenic Tutoring School Owners Federation and also President of the Department of Greek Mathematics Agency. He had intense participation in political things and has been candidate for parliament with the New Democracy party in the elections of January 2015, and also has been head of the party for educational affairs in Evros region. He is known for his cultural activity as he has been Vice president of the Association of Cancer Patients & Friends and also member of many local associations. He is married to Katerina Gorgouni and father to Despina who is a mathematician and also dance teacher, and Dimitris who is a civil engineer.
