Volker Raffel holds a degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of Karlsruhe (Germany) and completed engineering studies in France at the National Institute Polytechnique de Grenoble, specializing in energy and nuclear engineering. He held several management positions within the E.ON Group, most recently as Director of Energy Management, Communication and Coordination at PreussenElektra. In Romania, he was part of the team involved in the 2004 privatization of Electrica Moldova and later served as Deputy General Manager of the distribution companies until 2008. Since August 2021, he has been CEO of E.ON Romania. He currently also serves as President of ACUE (Federation of the Romanian Association of Utilities Companies), President of the Romanian-German Chamber of Commerce and Industry (AHK Romania), and member of the Board of the Foreign Investors Council (FIC), where he co-chairs the Energy Task Force.
