Byron Nicolaides is the Founder and Group Chief Executive Officer of PeopleCert, a global, UK-rooted leader in skilling, reskilling and upskilling, delivering world-class qualifications in over 200 countries. PeopleCert reaches millions of learners annually and supports more than 50,000 organisations - including 82% of the Fortune 500 - and 800 government departments through a network of 7,500 training partners worldwide. Founded in 2000, PeopleCert has grown into a global lifelong learning powerhouse and became the first Greek-founded unicorn, valued at over USD 1 billion. The Group is the custodian of UK Government-developed flagship brands such as PRINCE2, operates LanguageCert in more than 100 countries, and is now home to City & Guilds, one of Britain’s most respected names in vocational excellence. Born in Istanbul and later migrating to Greece, the son of two educators, Mr. Nicolaides is a self-made entrepreneur and a strong advocate for education, innovation and cross-cultural collaboration. He is a father of two children and remains deeply committed to advancing opportunity through learning. He served as President of CEPIS (Council of European Professional Informatics Societies), representing national informatics associations across Europe and supporting the advancement of digital skills and professional standards. Mr. Nicolaides has received numerous personal distinctions, including the EY Entrepreneur of the Year Award (UK & Greece, 2019). In the same year, PeopleCert was named UK National Winner at the European Business Awards (EBA 2019), placing the company among the top 1% of Europe’s most dynamic businesses. Under his leadership, PeopleCert has received more than 70 international awards for excellence, leadership and innovation.
