Mark joined Visa in April 2022, bringing more than 35 years of experience delivering digital solutions to Public Sector clients. He leads the Government Solutions business across Europe, digitizing Government acceptance, disbursements, and commercial payments. In this role, his team are working with government clients to create their payments strategy. Delivering efficiencies &savings, whilst streamlining services for citizens. Government citizen wallets will deliver this effectively and secure payments whilst combatting fraud and welfare eligibility.
Prior to his current role Mark was responsible for establishing the Public Sector business for Google Cloud across Europe, Middle East &Africa. Moving customers to the Cloud as part of their digital transformation journeys, focusing on delivering better outcomes through data, analytics and especially implementing AI. Mark spent 20 years at IBM, where he was their VP Public Sector, Europe. In this role he led large transformation engagements for a number of government customers. Mark ran the UK’s Government, Health and Defense businesses over 10 years, and was a member of the IBM UK leadership team. Mark began his career as a Software Engineer designing complex real-time systems integration projects for the aerospace industry. Mark is a member of the IET and Chartered Engineer, as well as being a fellow of the British Computing Society. He has a degree in Electronic Engineering as well as an MBA.
