JUSTICE WATCH President Former President of the Council of Bars and Law Societies of Europe (CCBE) Managing Partner of PERAKIS & ASSOCIATES Law Firm Born and raised in Chania, Crete, Greece. He studied law at the Law School of the University of Athens and did postgraduate studies in France, in IT Law and Legal Technology (Universite de Montpellier II, DEA Droit de l’ Informatique et Informatique Juridique). As lawyer, he is co-founder and Managing Partner of Perakis and Associates Law Firm. He practices law especially in the areas of corporate and commercial law, personal data protection, IT law and sports law. In addition to his legal practice based in Athens, for about a decade he was an advisor to the EU Commission on legal issues of the new information and communication technologies, while he has also served as a member of legal committees of international associations in the same field (IFIP, CEPIS). In Greece, he has participated as President or member in several Law Drafting Committees and other Working Groups, as well as a member in Independent Authorities. From 2011 to 2020 he was an elected member of the Administrative Board of the Athens Bar Association. In 2022, in Brussels, he was elected to the position of the President of the official pan-European body of lawyers (CCBE) representing the national Bar Associations of 42 countries and through them more than 1.1 million lawyers, for the year 2023, having served the previous three years (2020-2022) as its Vice-President and the five years before (2015-2020) as President of its permanent Access to Justice Committee;he also was served as Head of the Greek Delegation to the CCBE for six years. After his mandate in the CCBE, he is elected as President of the non-profit organization Justice Watch (2024), a position to which he was re-elected in March 2026. He is a member of the Scientific Council of the Tsatsos Foundation, the Association of Greek Commercialists and the Greek Union for Human Rights. He also was one of the co-founders of the Movement for the Acceleration of Justice in Greece. He has written two legal books (collective works) and one literary book and has published various articles of legal and general interest in scientific journals and in the printed and electronic press. He is the father of three children.
