Stavriana Asprogiannidou is the Managing Director of Howden Marine, delivering bespoke insurance and risk solutions that help shipping clients navigate complex marine exposures. She advises a diverse range of shipping groups—from family-owned businesses to large, global trading fleets—tailoring strategies to each client’s operational and commercial realities.
She has 16 years of experience in the shipping and marine insurance market, including 14 years at London’s oldest and one of the largest marine insurance brokers, where she successfully led the Mediterranean and Southeastern Europe shipping portfolio, building strong, long-term partnerships across the region.
Stavriana holds a BSc in Economics from the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki (AUTH), an MSc in Insurance and Risk Management from Bayes Business School (formerly Cass), an LLM in Maritime Law from City, University of London, and an Executive MBA from Cranfield University. She has also completed Harvard Business School’s Entrepreneurship programme. She is a Chartered Broker (ACII) and a Chartered Manager Fellow (CMI).
