Matina Charkoftaki grew up in Heraklion, Crete and started working as a journalist in
2011. She studied at the Department of International and European Studies at Panteion
University from which she then obtained a master's degree in Economics. Her career in
business reporting began in 2012 when she joined the stock market channel SBC TV
where she worked for six years, covering various sectors of economic activity. She then
moved into print and online, writing for Boussias Communications' FOODReporter and
Build daily newsletters and for the news website Business Daily. About a year ago, she
joined the team of Capital.gr and the Κεφάλαιο newspaper.
