Vice Admiral (ret.) Alexandros Diakopoulos is the Executive Chairman of the Hellenic Aerospace Industry (HAI) and a former National Security Adviser to the Prime Minister of Greece. A graduate of the Hellenic Naval Academy, he holds a Master’s in Public Administration from Harvard Kennedy School and a Master’s in Defense and Geostrategy from Paris II Panthéon-Assas. During his distinguished career in the Hellenic Navy, he served in high-ranking positions, including Commandant of the National Defense College and Naval Attaché in Ankara. In 2019, he was appointed as Greece's first National Security Adviser, where he organized the National Security Bureau from the ground up. He currently serves on the Board of Directors of the Hellenic Foundation for European & Foreign Policy (ELIAMEP) and is the Vice President of the War Museum of Greece. A frequent contributor to the daily press on international relations and defense, he is also the co-author of the book “Middle East 1945–2025: The Tyranny of Expectations and Beliefs”.
