Dr. Giorgos Stamou is a Professor of the School of Electrical and Computer Engineering, National Technical University of Athens, Director of the Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning Systems Laboratory (AILS Lab), and a Visiting Professor of Operations Research and Statistics at the MIT Sloan School of Management and MIT Open Learning. His research interests include deep learning, multimodal AI, explainable AI, knowledge representation, and automated reasoning, with specific interest in areas like Large Language Models (LLMs), Graph Neural Networks (GNNs), interpretable AI, AI reasoning, and applications of AI in health and culture. He has been working on more than 60 funded research projects in the above areas, in many of them as the scientific coordinator. He has published over 150 papers in scientific journals and conference proceedings, co-edited books, and authored one monograph. He has also served as an organizer or member of the organization committees of conferences, as well as a member of several scientific committees and a consultant for companies utilizing AI technologies.
