George Orthopoulos is Commercial and Site Lead of Amgen Hellas, where he leads the company’s commercial operations in Greece and chairs the local leadership team. Since joining Amgen in 2016, he has held senior leadership roles, most recently as Business Unit Lead for Oncology, Hematology and Rare Diseases, driving growth, key launches, and organizational transformation. With nearly 20 years of experience in the pharmaceutical sector, he has held a wide range of roles across sales, marketing, medical affairs, and business leadership, developing broad expertise in strategic planning, stakeholder engagement, and healthcare innovation. He began his professional career in academic research and teaching at the University of Sussex in the United Kingdom. He holds an MBA International from the Athens University of Economics and Business, a PhD in Immunology and Virology from the University of Sussex, and both an MSc and a BSc in Cell and Molecular Biology from the University of Essex.
