Dia Chorafa is policy officer at Boroume, Coordinator of the “Alliance of for the Reduction of Food Waste”. She is a lawyer, with specialisation in EU Law (LL.M, K.U. Leuven). After her traineeship at the Legal Service of the European Commission (WTO team), she has worked for ten years at the European Parliament, principally in the areas of International Trade, as well as Agricultural Policy. Upon her return to Greece, she joined the non-profit organisation Boroume, where she is responsible for public policy issues regarding food waste prevention and also represents Boroume at the EU Platform on Food Losses and Food Waste (established by the European Commission in 2016). She is engaged in coordinating the work of the Voluntary Agreement “Alliance for the Reduction of Food Waste” in Greece, which brings together companies across the entire food value chain, Universities, CSOs, and is under the auspices of the Hellenic Ministry of Environment and Energy.
